Air compressors for workshops and industry

Explore Pneumatix compressed-air guidance for mechanical, tyre, fabrication, manufacturing, industrial and spray-finishing applications.

Compressed-air demand changes with the tools, machinery and processes on site. Use the application guides below to understand the main selection factors, then confirm the final compressor against real simultaneous demand and site conditions.

Mechanical and automotive workshops

Air tools, tyre equipment, hoists, cleaning and workshop processes can create short peaks and sustained demand. Compare PM10, PM20 and PM30 starting points against the number of users operating together.

Tyre and service centres

Tyre changers, inflation equipment, wheel service tools and workshop air use can overlap through the day. Storage and recovery can be as important as the headline compressor size.

Fabrication and engineering

Air grinders, sanders, plasma support, pneumatic tools and production equipment can create high and variable demand. Confirm simultaneous use, duty cycle and air quality.

Manufacturing and industrial

Production equipment may require stable pressure, repeatable duty and planned redundancy. Review the complete system rather than selecting from horsepower alone.

Paint booth and spray finishing

Spray finishing depends on suitable airflow and air quality. Moisture, oil aerosol, filtration, dryer duty and pressure drop must be considered with the compressor.

Need help applying this to your site?

Provide the equipment list, operating pattern, required pressure and existing compressed-air infrastructure. Pneumatix can help identify the appropriate starting point or support the discussion with your existing dealer.

Frequently asked questions

Can I choose a compressor only from the number of workshop bays?

No. The useful starting point is the airflow and pressure required by the equipment that may operate at the same time, together with duty cycle, storage, treatment and future growth.

What is the difference between a Total Air Station and a Base Mount?

PM10 and PM20 Total Air Stations combine the compressor with a receiver, refrigerated dryer and inline filtration in a receiver-mounted package. Base Mounts are compressor-only, so the receiver and air-treatment system are selected separately.

Does Pneumatix sell directly?

Pneumatix products are supplied through dealer and distribution partners. Pneumatix can assist with product selection and connect you with an appropriate supplier where required.
