SPRAY-FINISHING COMPRESSED AIR

Compressed air for paint booths and spray finishing

Plan compressed air for paint booths and spray finishing with suitable compressor capacity, receiver storage, drying, filtration and pressure stability.

Spray finishing needs adequate airflow and suitable air quality. The compressor is only one part of the system. Dryer performance, filtration, condensate control, pressure drop and point-of-use requirements can directly affect the result.

Common demand drivers

  • spray gun air consumption
  • number of operators
  • continuous or intermittent spraying
  • required working pressure
  • dryer inlet and ambient conditions
  • filtration and point-of-use treatment

Likely Pneumatix starting points

Use the PM10, PM20 and PM30 output levels only as starting points. Confirm the total simultaneous airflow and the treatment requirements for the coatings, equipment and finish standard.

Total Air Station or Base Mount?

A Total Air Station can provide a compact integrated starting package. A Base Mount may be more suitable where receiver capacity, dryer duty and filtration need to be independently designed.

Pneumatix supplies compressed-air equipment and supporting infrastructure only. Paint booth design, certification and approval remain with the booth supplier and the relevant authorities.

Moisture control for finishing

Finish quality is sensitive to moisture in the air supply. A refrigerated air dryer selected around the compressor flow and operating conditions provides the drying stage, with filtration then specified around the coating process.

Frequently asked questions

Can the PM10 Total Air Station run a paint booth?

It may suit some smaller applications, but the spray equipment, simultaneous demand, pressure and required air treatment must be reviewed before selection.

Is the integrated filtration automatically paint quality?

No blanket claim should be made. The treatment requirement must be matched to the coating process and equipment.

Does Pneumatix design or certify paint booths?

No such claim is made. Pneumatix supports the compressed-air equipment and can coordinate or refer related installation work where appropriate.

Why might a Base Mount be preferred?

It allows the receiver, dryer and filtration to be selected independently for a more specific process requirement.
